For me creating a business was pretty hard since I barely had working capital, but luckily I had excellent credit I could use. Here are few steps I took to create my business
1. Determine your goal
I first determined what field I was going to be in and worked for 2 different companiesto get enough experience about the stone business. (I had 6 years experience before opening my own place but it doesn't usually take that long; I would say at least a year though).
2. Stay focused on the field
Unlike most of my other friends, I wanted to focus on what I was doing instead of opening multiple companies to work in different industries. You can do that once your company has the success in one field.
3. Being honest
Many of my clients are either word of mouth or return customers since we always make sure to never cheat anyone.
4. Location
If you are in a retail field, the location of your business is very important since no new business has a lot of money to spend on advertising.
5. Book keeping
This is very important and I think most businesses fail because of bad book keeping. You really need to know your expenses and profit.
6. Scheduling
Try to keep all your appointments on schedule.
